Udaipur Diaries: Vintage & Classic Car collection

The Vintage  and Classic Car collection is a unique private collection of the House of Mewar one of the world's longest serving dynasty. This landmark place unvieled in the city of Udaipur on 15th February, 2000.

The collection of cars has been housed in the original Palace Garage, a majestic setup for the showcase of such oldies. The semi-circular garage with its forecourt is housed within a greater courtyard, creating a pleasant hideaway from the hustle of the streets. the garage was built at those time when the only cars in the town belonged to the royal families which is still maintained in its royalty.Till today there is the original Burmah Shell petrol pumps in working condition. The collection has vehicles which belonged the Maharanas of Mewar both past and present. The collection houses even cars which are seventy years old and the greatest fact is that most of them are in perfect working conditions.

The bougainvillea coated Garden Hotel and restaurant is a property of HRH Group of Hotels is also within the campus of the garage. Visitors are awestruck by the display of the magnificent Rolls-Royce, 1939 Cadillac open convertibles, rare Mercedes model, 1963 Vauxhall and 1937 Opel models.
 These collection is an living example of the fact how was the grandeur of our kings and the royalty with which they lived and the legacy they have left behind for us to be proud of.























These collection gives us an glimpse into our rich and bountiful past making us feel proud for the glory of our past.
